The Irish Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian aid organisation. We are on the ground at every natural disaster and conflict zone bringing life-saving aid to those in need. We are also active in Ireland providing various services in the local community; from first aid training and cover, to therapeutic hand care, support and information for carers and a skin camouflage service for those with disfiguring skin conditions. Both worldwide and countrywide we’re there. Will you be?
Remembering the Irish Red Cross in your Will means we can continue responding to international emergencies and providing much needed services to local communities throughout Ireland.
Making a Will and keeping it up to date ensures that your estate is distributed the way you intend and that your family is taken care of.
Writing a Will is one of the most important things you can do and it's also very simple.
The Dunant Legacy Society
You too can follow in the footsteps of Henri Dunant. As founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross he is responsible for assisting millions of people around the world. But even in his death he recognized the importance of leaving behind a gift that will live on and so bequeathed his money to a number of charitable organizations. Becoming a member of the Irish Red Cross Dunant Legacy Society formally recognises your commitment to our work.
Your participation in the Dunant Legacy Society makes you an active partner in the work of the Irish Red Cross. As such we will keep you informed of exactly how your contribution helps those who use our services. We would also like to present you with a special ken of our appreciation that formally recognises you as a valued supporter.
If you would like to learn more about how to become a member of the Dunant Legacy Society please contact us today.
What to do Next
If you decide to leave a legacy to the Irish Red Cross we would be grateful if you would inform us by completing a Legacy Form, which can be obtained from the Fundrasing department.
Your pledge is not legally binding but is a statement of your present intention. By informing us of your intention you will enable us to plan with greater confidence for future generations.
We would like to ensure that your bequest is used in an area that you wish to support and would be pleased to arrange a meeting with representatives of the Domestic and International Funds to discuss your gift.
When you have decided what type of legacy you intend to leave contact your solicitor. The Irish Red Cross advises that you should seek guidance from your own legal advisor regarding the nature and terms of your bequest in the context of estate and tax planning and obligations you may have to your family and others.
For any information on the above please contact Emma Doyle, Corporate and Major Gifts Executive, at edoyle@redcross.ie or call 01 642 46 45.
