The Irish Red Cross contributes to the mission of the Red Cross Movement to prevent or alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found by responding to the needs of those affected by slow or sudden onset disasters across the globe. In particular, we support emergency response, recovery and longer-term development activities wherever possible through the provision of specialist personnel, material items or financial assistance in cooperation with Red Cross partners. The Irish Red Cross also helps reconnect those who tragically lose contact with family members and is active in promoting respect for human dignity through the dissemination of International Humanitarian Law or the law of armed conflict.
