Red Cross to administer new Flood Relief Scheme

2 Nov 2004

The Irish Red Cross will distribute Government humanitarian aid to victims of the recent severe floods.

This follows a decision by the Government to appoint the Irish Red Cross to act as an intermediary body for the distribution of humanitarian aid to those who have suffered severe hardship. Details on how the scheme will be administered will be decided at a meeting between officials from the Irish Red Cross and the Office of Public Works tomorrow.
