The Red Cross is currently helping to find those trapped under rubble and assessing the devastation caused by the earthquake, which measured 7.6 on the Richter scale and was centred about 95km north of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
The tremor and its aftershocks also resulted in death and devastation in Afghanistan and India.
The Red Cross has a strong local presence in the countries affected by the earthquake.
Many are working with the local communities to help find and free those trapped in rubble.
The Red Cross is also currently assessing the needs of the people in the areas and establishing immediate relief for those injured and trapped.
