The Irish Red Cross wishes to inform people living in north Dublin that people purporting to collect on behalf of the Irish Red Cross Myanmar/Burma Appeal have no connection whatsoever with the Red Cross or any of its branches or volunteers.
The matter was brought to the attention of the Society today when a Santry resident contacted the Society’s head office to advise that people wearing t-shirts bearing a Red Cross emblem called to his home yesterday evening asking for donations to help Red Cross operations in Myanmar.
The Society has investigated the matter and is satisfied that no-one acting on its behalf is undertaking door-to-door collections in the Area. The Society has notified An Garda Síochana and urges anyone who has such callers at their door to do likewise.
