Seychelles

This was the country, in the sub-region, most affected by the 2004 Tsunami.

At the time the local Red Cross society operated with a staff of two people and a very committed group of volunteers.

Tsunami funding has enabled the National Red Cross Society, a key player in the humanitarian field in the country, to significantly scale up its activities and to transform the way that the organisation functions. Programs in the region involve organisational development and capacity building support to newly recruited staff and governance members.
