A massive explosion in Beirut, Lebanon on 4th August 2020 has left thousands injured near the capital.

Hundreds of Lebanese Red Cross emergency medical personnel and 125 ambulances are still at the scene of the devastating explosion at the Port of Beirut, looking for survivors and rushing injured people to hospital for life-saving treatment.

The explosion has killed more than 150 people and injured more than 5,000. Some 200 people are still believed to be missing. The Lebanese Red Cross has set up triage and first aid stations to ensure that people with non-critical injuries can be treated and comforted while the worst-affected survivors are being taken to hospital.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is working closely with the Lebanese Red Cross to ensure additional COVID-19 prevention measures are in place for the long run, as aid workers continue working around the clock to support the more than 300,000 people displaced by the disaster with medical treatment, shelter and psychological support.

Donations raised by this appeal will go to the people that are immediately impacted by this explosion.
