Great news this week with the signing of the Statutory Order that enacts the new Constitution. This is the end of a very long road and so much hard work. Special thanks to all those whose determination and persistence brought it about and a special word for Prof Roger Downer who is the principal “Architect “ of this new governance framework
Im not sure if people realize how much change may come with this over time. We will see more volunteers involved at a leadership level and more outsiders that will bring new skills and experience. It may take a few years but this has the potential to create a very lively and dynamic mix—All good stuff ..and sure to help us grow and develop.
Also Im glad its happening now because it adds to the momentum thats building-we have elections in a few weeks for our new Board, we are starting work on a strategic plan we will soon be launching a number of important new Fundraising initiatives. In a few months time we have plans to get around the country and meet people and all that will keep us busy. So much for a quiet summer!
