Today we bring you the last of our three finalists in this year’s Positive Images Action Project competition. This project focused on the plight faced by asylum seekers and refugees and some of the services which Irish Red Cross provides such as the Restoring Family Links service. The group used a variety of media and performance to get their message across including a poster for a display at their local community day, a role-play about the service and a song they wrote and performed as a group.

In the course of the project the group considered how they would feel if they were separated from their family due to conflict or disaster and understandable imaged that they “would feel really scared and confused…we would probably cry and ask ourselves what will happen for us and our family and try not to think the worst” The work and enthusiasm that was evident in this project caused one of our judges to exclaim, “Amazed at this and the amount of effort that was put in. Truly shocked, in a good way”. If you would like to find out more about Positive Images or the work that Irish Red Cross Youth are involved with visit our website or find us on Facebook
