Home News And Events Limerick Volunteers Seek Victory in Venice

The team, comprised of Niall Dunworth, Zoe Gogarty, Gerard O’Connor, Ann O’Mara, Kyna Regan and Orlaith Shinners, competed and won the 2010 President’s Trophy National Competition in order to represent Ireland at the prestigious event in Vienna this month.

This team are the fourth team from Limerick to represent Ireland in the past eight years and are hoping to continue the success of these previous teams. When they are not training hard for competitions, the team members are involved in providing first aid care at various public events, including concerts and sporting events. They also take part in promoting Red Cross activities locally and organising fundraising initiatives.

Some team members have recently undergone skin camouflage training and are actively involved in the community aspects of the local Red Cross activities. The team are really looking forward to meeting other volunteers from across Europe and to putting their first aid skills into practice at FACE 2011 in Venice.
