First aid and ambulance cover

Our Work Ireland Ambulance

The Irish Red Cross has a fleet of 144 vehicles. These include road ambulances, off-road ambulances and minibuses. All our vehicles meet the required standard of the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC), which are in line with HSE standards.

The Irish Red Cross provides first-aid cover at numerous events around the country every week, ranging from concerts to sports events and community festivals. Our first-aid cover at such events is provided by volunteer members who are trained to Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) standards.

For the provision of first-aid cover, the country is split into four regions. Each region has a volunteer Regional Director of Units and each county has a volunteer Area Director of Units.

Should you wish to get first-aid cover for an event - such as qualified first-aid personnel and/or an ambulance, please contact the relevant Regional Director (see below).

Please note that sending an email with a query regarding first aid cover does not constitute a contract to provide said cover. Cover for an event will be confirmed in writing and is subject to availability of personnel and equipment.
