This competition is organised annually for law students across Ireland by the Irish Red Cross and is an important part of our IHL dissemination.
Teams from universities across the country battled it out on Saturday 10 March at the School of Law at Queen's University Belfast. Congratulations to the 2018 winning team who were representing Queen's.
Entering the Corn Adomnáin
Third-level institutions are invited to enter teams of three students, who may be enrolled in undergraduate or master's courses in law. Educational institutions may enter up to three teams but should the competition be over-subscribed, organisers will give priority to ensuring each applying institution has at least one team participating.
If you are interested in entering the competition, contact the moot court coordinator in your law school about putting together a team.
Each year, a number of team resources are published to assist teams prepare for the competition. These include reading lists and coaching and strategy tips. For resources from previous competitions, please visit our IHL Resources page.
How does law protect in war? is the International Committee of the Red Cross’ online resource providing academics, researchers and students alike with a wealth of regularly updated information, cases and references in a user-friendly format.
