What you need to know
This Scheme is open to impacted small businesses and community, voluntary and sports organisations impacted by flooding arising from Storm Chandra, that occurred between 26th and 28th January 2026. It is aimed at businesses and organisations that are unable to secure flood insurance.
The deadline for applications is 20th February 2026.
The Scheme provides a contribution towards the costs of returning a business premises to its pre-flood condition. This can include replacing flooring, fixtures and fittings, and damaged stock if relevant.
The Irish Red Cross will administer and make payments under the Scheme. We are ready to act fast.
How we process your application
- Our team at the Irish Red Cross are ready to act fast. We have been reviewing applications as they are received.
- We will verify all applications’ property details with the relevant County Councils.
- We aim to make the first-stage payments of up to €5,000 to the bank account details you provide promptly, once the details are verified.
- Applications for more financial support will require an in-person visit by an assessor. We have a panel of assessors ready on the ground to support straightaway.
- Once we have the assessor’s report, a decision will be made and communicated to you. Payment will be made promptly.
