The Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme for small businesses and community, voluntary and sports organisations in Bantry is now open. This scheme is aimed at businesses and organisations that are unable to secure flood insurance and have been affected by the recent flooding in the Bantry area in early November 2025.
The scheme provides an assistance payment towards the cost of returning premises, of small businesses of up to 20 employees, to their pre-flood condition. There are two levels of support available; one up to €5,000 and a second of more than €5,000, capped at €20,000.
The Irish Red Cross will administer and make payments under the scheme on behalf of the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. Damage assessments for claims of more than €5,000 will be organised through the Irish Red Cross.
Application forms for support are available here, or can be collected at the Irish Red Cross Bantry branch. For further information please contact emergencyflooding@redcross.ie
