Tips for Writing a Strong Nomination

Please note that identifying information is removed from nominations before they are submitted to the judging panel; and that the submission may be read out at the National Volunteer Awards should your nomination be successful.

To help you prepare your submission, consider using the following format:

  1. Introduction
  • How long has the nominee been involved with the Irish Red Cross?
  • What roles or positions have they held?
  • What makes them stand out?

  1. Meeting the Criteria
  • Detail their key achievements and contributions.
  • Highlight their impact within the Irish Red Cross and the wider community.
  • Provide examples of their leadership, compassion, and embodiment of Red Cross Principles.

  1. Summary
  • Explain why this individual or branch is truly deserving of the award.

We look forward to celebrating the incredible contributions of our volunteers. Whether you’re nominating someone or attending the ceremony, thank you for being part of this special occasion!
