Our Work in Ireland

Through the work of our 3,000 volunteers and staff, the Irish Red Cross strives to be “Always There” for those in need.

Irish Red Cross domestic programmes represent a broad mix of assistance ranging from localised community support for the isolated & immobile to youth programmes to ongoing aid for those living in Ireland as a result of forced migration.

Red Cross volunteers also work to provide critical assistance following domestic emergencies such as flooding or fire – and for more than 80 years we have provided community-based first aid and ambulance response services including mountain & lake rescue.

Beyond these areas of work, the Irish Red Cross also maintains our long-established “restoring family links” programme – bringing families together who have been separated by conflict or disaster and provides psychological first aid training and support for victims of accidents or experiencing trauma.
