How to Complete Your CHY3 Tax-Back Form

The CHY3 tax-back form is essential for claiming tax relief on donations made to charities. To make the process smooth and straightforward, follow the steps outlined below:

1. Download the Form here or email us at fundraising@redcross.ie for a copy to be posted to you.
2. Print the Form.
3. Fill in the required fields on the form – PPS Number, Date/Year of Donation(s). Any donations made between 2021 to 2025 are eligible. Add Signature.
4. Send your completed form to – Irish Red Cross, Freepost FDN2719, 16 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.

FAQs

How do I qualify?

• You must have donated €250 or more to the Irish Red Cross in one year (January -December) in the last four years.
• You must be a taxpayer in Ireland*.
• You must have donated yourself directly, and not through a friend or collection.

*Resident in Ireland paying income tax (PAYE or self-assessed) for the relevant year(s).

How much extra money will go to the Irish Red Cross?

Up to 45%. For example, if you donate €250, we can claim an extra €112.25 from Revenue, making your donation worth €362.25.

What does ‘associated’ with the approved body (i.e. Irish Red Cross) mean?

You do not need to tick this box unless you are an employee or board member of the Irish Red Cross. Donors and volunteers are not considered as being ‘associated’ with the Irish Red Cross. For further information from Revenue please click here.

If you have donated just under €250 this year, you can top-up your donation so that your annual gift could qualify for tax relief. Just call 1800 50 70 70 or donate online by clicking the donate button below.
